Rattle That Lock (Deluxe Edition) CD+DVD

Rattle That Lock (Deluxe Edition)

There is also a Bluray edition and a single CD version. The deluxe package offers some extras and isn't a bad little package. Main gripe is the box lacks the album name on the spines and the top and bottom edges, so identifying this on a shelf will be a problem.

This is a pretty fantastic album "besides the title track" and tbh i am unsure why they chose Rattle That Lock to be the title track or why its been used to plug the album. There are much better tracks on the album.

To be updated....

Odd Notes:
The whole album has as unusual yet nice feel to it, lot of really old school stuff very reminiscent to  the probate days along with the type of stuff that would of no doubt once been performed on his boat back when it was in use as a boat. Jools hollands possible influence along with daves love of old school blues really does give this album a nice feel. I also get a real feel of the beatles in some places, even a moment during Five AM where part of it almost sounded like the melody from "Eternal Flame" then suddenly felt like "The Long and Winding Road"  (to be updated)

Back Of Box Description:

It is now over 25 years since the launch of The Wall, Pink Floyd's magnum opus.
Conceived by Roger Waters as an ambitious double album, a spectacular live show and a ground breaking feature film. The Wall has gone on to achieve Iconic status In the history of popular music. It has been both lavished with praise and subjected to the most hostile criticism Imaginable. Using the actual words of the band and the critics then and now, this is the independent critical review of a milestone in popular culture, which strips away the prejudices to produce  the ultimate retrospective on one of the most important popular works of the twentieth century.
The book is a detailed analysis of the creation of the work and its critical reception drawing extensively on the views of the members of Pink Floyd themselves and featuring a 1979 track-by-track review of the album by Roger Waters

Bonus features include new interpretations of the music from The Wall by Mostly Autumn and Cirrus Minor, plus stunning new abstract animations by David Rogers.

My Notes:

This has had a few Single DVD releases Here and Here which just contained DVD 1 (the critical review) and lacked the "pink floyd in their own words" disc and the great little book. So i would try to get this version rather than the other two releases.

My Notes:

Not to bad, it also features syd but does concentrate more on roger.
It boasts a fair bit of old footage and interviews with people, including the female artist who did the epic screaming over "great gig in the sky" and also their first producer and others..
The book isn't to bad neither.... Disc clips into the back of book
