Critically and commercially, 1979's double LP The Wall represents Pink Floyd's last esteemed effort. Largely the brainchild of Floyd demigod Roger Waters, this ambitious rock opera concerns itself with the emotional walls that individuals build around themselves to guard against vulnerability, a theme illustrated by the sad life of the opera's central character, a musician called Pink. The effort went multi-platinum, scored a huge transatlantic single for the band ("Another Brick in the Wall,") and led to a notorious stage show and an Alan Parker-directed feature, Pink Floyd: The Wall, in 1982. The documentary Rock Milestones: Pink Floyd - The Wall provides a detailed critical examination of the now-legendary original album, from the inside out. It features interviews and reminiscences with former band members and rock critics, and performances of Wall songs by the band Mostly Autumn, including the numbers "Comfortably Numb," "In the Flesh," "Don't Leave Me Now," "Mother," and "Another Brick in the Wall." ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
